FISURIN

Frequently asked questions

The questions our surgeons answer most often in consultation and on social media, in one place.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a prescription?

Yes. FISURIN is a magistral formula with nifedipine, a prescription medicine. The prescription can be issued in an in-person or online consultation.

How long should I use it?

6 to 8 weeks, even if the pain disappears earlier. Closure is confirmed by the surgeon.

Can children use it?

Fissures in children are treated mainly with diet and softeners. FISURIN is not indicated in children unless a pediatric specialist prescribes it.

Is it compatible with pregnancy?

Only under medical prescription, after weighing benefit and risk. Tell the surgeon before starting.

What are the side effects?

Mild local burning in the first days, rarely flushing or headache. Stop and consult if you notice a rash or severe irritation.

What if it does not heal?

If after 8 weeks of correct use the fissure is still open, the surgeon re-examines it and proposes Botox or a sphincterotomy. Non-healing fissures must also be checked for other causes.

Do you ship internationally?

Not the magistral version. FISURIN Hydrogel is being registered as a medical device for international sale; join the waiting list.

Can I use it for hemorrhoids?

No. For hemorrhoids our surgeons prescribe ANADYL, from the same PROCTOANE line. Using the right product for the right condition is what makes the difference.
