Why most fissures do not close on their own
A fissure is a small tear in the lining of the anal canal. The tear hurts, the pain makes the internal sphincter tighten, and the tight muscle cuts off blood flow to the tear, so it cannot heal. Creams that only numb the area break half of that cycle. Treatment guidelines from colorectal societies recommend a sphincter-relaxing agent (nitroglycerin, diltiazem or nifedipine) as the first step for a fissure that has not closed within a few weeks.
What FISURIN does
Relaxes the sphincter
Nifedipine, a calcium channel blocker applied topically, lowers resting anal pressure so blood can reach the tear.
Calms the pain
Lidocaine reduces the pain of each bowel movement, which breaks the spasm cycle and lets you keep your stools soft and regular.
Hydrogel base
A water-based gel that spreads easily, does not stain and supports the damaged skin while it closes.
6-week protocol
How to apply it, what to eat, when to expect less pain and when to call us: the same protocol our surgeons give in consultation.
Is it a fissure or a hemorrhoid?
Both can bleed, but they feel different. A fissure gives a sharp, cutting pain during the bowel movement that can last minutes to hours afterwards. A hemorrhoid usually gives a feeling of a lump, itching or painless bleeding. Read the full comparison or take the 1-minute self-check below.

Made by the surgeons who treat fissures every day
FISURIN was created at Clínica Proctológica de Lima, a clinic dedicated exclusively to anorectal conditions, after years of prescribing nifedipine and lidocaine separately. It is prepared as a magistral formula under prescription in an authorized pharmacy, and it is the first product of the PROCTOANE line. Our surgeons explain fissures, hemorrhoids and recovery after surgery to more than 134,000 followers on TikTok.
Frequently asked questions
Can I buy FISURIN without a prescription?
In Peru, FISURIN is a magistral formula and requires a prescription from a physician. You can get one through a consultation at Clínica Proctológica de Lima or an online consultation with our surgeons. In other countries, FISURIN Hydrogel (the medical-device version) is in preparation: join the waiting list on the shop page.
How long does it take to work?
Most patients report less pain during bowel movements in the first 1 to 2 weeks. The fissure itself usually closes between week 4 and week 8 of the protocol. Chronic fissures may need the full course and a check-up with the surgeon.
Is it safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Fissures are common after childbirth. Topical nifedipine and lidocaine have very low absorption, but their use in pregnancy and breastfeeding must be decided by your physician. Tell your surgeon if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before starting.
